Spotlight: Rosen Shingle Creek Project
Engineering staff at the Rosen Shingle Creek resort requested assistance from Carlisle HVAC/ Hardcast Regarding the performance of the duct sealant used to seal their exterior HVAC ducts that were installed. A Hardcast technical team inspected the roof top duct system and found a large amount of sealant had cracked or otherwise failed due to the corrosive environment and intense UV reflecting off the white top roof. Following that inspection, a repair procedure that treated the application of Duct-Seal 321™ followed by an application of AFT-701 rolled sealant to all duct openings and seams was presented to the Rosen building engineering personnel. The proposed procedure was accepted, and repairs started. A subsequent inspection of the rooftop duct system was performed and has shown that repairs performed effectively with no water entry into the system and no conditioned air escaping.
